# Theme: Default

WireKit ships with a refined default theme (neutral palette, editorial typography, 2-layer shadows, 0.5rem radius). No additional CSS needed.

## Design notes

The default theme is deliberately quiet: a neutral gray palette, editorial typography (Inter with tuned letter-spacing), a restrained two-layer shadow system, and a 0.5rem corner radius. It is built to look finished out of the box and to recede so your content and brand lead. Every other preset on this page inherits from it and overrides only what it needs — so whatever you change, the parts you leave alone keep the default's tested behavior.

**Best for:** almost everything — dashboards, SaaS, marketing sites, internal tools. Reach for another preset only when you want a stronger stylistic statement.

## Accessibility

The default palette is WCAG-verified end to end: body text clears AA on every surface token, the focus ring meets the WCAG 2.4.11 minimum target area, and dark mode (the `.dark` block) is contrast-checked independently of light mode. Because this is the baseline every install starts from, you inherit these guarantees with zero configuration — and every other preset builds on the same audited foundation.
